About Me
Phil Brown is a popular and versatile DJ who has been providing quality DJ and disco hire services to clients in London, Surrey and the South East for over 15 years.
With a background in radio, live events and music marketing, Phil uses his skills to pack dancefloors at every event! Career highlights include event production and management at Abbey Road’s live recording team Live Here Now and marketing and promoting gigs and events at legendary live music venue the Roundhouse in Camden. More recently Phil has been working as a Digital Marketing specialist at leading record label BMG, the home of alt-J, Kylie Minogue and celebrated label SKINT Records.
With regular DJ slots at the University of Surrey’s Students Union, Time Nightclub and venues around Surrey, Phil made the switch to DJ-ing private events. Against a backdrop of ‘cheesy’ and poorly prepared DJs under-serving their clients, Phil spotted an opportunity to provide a better service to clients and improve the reputation of DJs.
His background in event management and live music means he brings high production values and standards to each event. Phil will take your music ideas and requests and effortlessly blend them with eclectic tracks and crowd-pleasing favourites. His knowledge extends far beyond his passion for old school dance and R’n’B from the past 20 years. His collection spans multiple genres across the past four decades, taking in 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s, and genres including Pop, House, Old School, Garage, R&B, Indie, Rock and more. He will take the time to understand your musical brief, and read and respond to the dancefloor. It’s not just what you play, but how and when you play it!
2019 was Phil’s busiest year yet with, from helping dozens of couples celebrate their weddings in style through to summer festivals and regular corporate bookings. Phil is the resident DJ at G Live, regularly DJ-ing and hosting their Christmas and New Year Eve Parties.
